About The Position

The Spanish Ministry Lead is responsible for overseeing all Spanish ministries at the Kroc Center, focusing on programming, outreach, and administrative tasks. This role aims to develop and implement evangelism and discipleship initiatives specifically for Spanish-speaking individuals in the Phoenix South Mountain area, aligning with The Salvation Army's mission and practices.

Requirements

  • Uniformed Salvationist preferred.
  • Secondary degree in Christian Ministry, Religious Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred, or working knowledge of the Word and basic Wesleyan Theology understanding.
  • Experience in evangelism, mentoring, and discipleship.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances under stressful conditions.
  • Proficient organizational skills and ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Email, and Internet.
  • Valid Arizona commercial driver's license and insured transportation, or must obtain a commercial driver's license within two months of hire.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required, or must obtain within two months of hire.

  • Experience in community outreach programs.
  • Knowledge of additional languages besides Spanish.
  • Familiarity with The Salvation Army's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Women's Ministry secretary to develop a calendar for the Spanish Women's Ministry program.
  • Organize and teach the Spanish Sunday School programs.
  • Provide leadership over all areas of the Spanish ministry for Sunday programming, including retrieving and inputting necessary statistics into CMS.
  • Lead mid-week Spanish Bible Study, teaching organized lessons prepared in advance.
  • Visit Spanish ministry members as needed.
  • Attend Ministry team meetings and actively participate in integrating Spanish ministry into Sunday programming.
  • Assist with the Christmas Red Kettle program and other seasonal activities as directed.
  • Support the Corps Assistant & Mission Integration Coordinator in ensuring that the Salvation Army mission is reflected in programs for the Spanish Community.
  • Safeguard offerings, activity fees, and donations, processing them according to established procedures.
  • Maintain and safeguard petty cash as assigned.
  • Provide transportation for Corps activities/meetings as assigned.
  • Secure and maintain appropriate supplies and resources for all aspects of the Spanish Ministry.
  • Inventory and maintain all equipment in good order.
  • Ensure compliance with Salvation Army Protecting the Mission and Child Safety policies with volunteers.
  • Work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.
