The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) is seeking a dedicated Spanish-English Interpreter to join its Language Services Unit within Support Services. This includes interpreting during Grand Jury presentations and community outreach events. Additionally, the interpreter will translate a wide range of materials, such as legal documents, personal statements, and press releases, ensuring that all translations are accurate and culturally appropriate. In this role, the interpreter will also transcribe and translate audio and video recordings, utilizing industry-standard equipment and software. This includes using transcription foot pedals, multimedia players like VLC and Audacity, and computer applications such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Proofreading translations and conducting effective terminology research are also essential responsibilities. The interpreter may be required to render court testimony regarding their translations and transcriptions, further emphasizing the importance of accuracy and professionalism in this position.
