About The Position

The Spanish Immersion Teacher is responsible for teaching elementary and middle school students in a Spanish immersion program. This role involves adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and interests while delivering a curriculum that includes various subjects in Spanish. The teacher will guide learning processes, plan lessons based on state standards, and assist in curriculum development for the Spanish immersion program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Education or related fields.
  • Valid Ohio Educator's license.
  • Native or like-native Spanish fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Teach elementary and middle school students individually and in groups.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet student needs and interests.
  • Deliver curriculum in Spanish, covering subjects such as phonics, reading, writing, math, social studies, and science.
  • Guide learning processes toward achieving curriculum goals and establishing clear objectives for lessons.
  • Plan daily instruction lessons derived from state standards and assessments.
  • Assist in the development of the Spanish immersion curriculum.
  • Provide educational experiences that reflect the philosophy and goals of the Spanish immersion program.
  • Conduct instruction effectively using student-centered methods to facilitate comprehension in Spanish.
  • Work effectively with a diverse range of students in a culturally diverse setting.
