About The Position

Support family engagement by building relationships with families, providing information about school programs and services, and helping staff develop effective engagement strategies. Serve as day-to-day interpreter and liaison for Spanish-speaking families. Your Role Will Include: Connecting families with resources and helping them advocate for their children. Supporting student services including enrollment, transportation, nutrition, and special services. Coordinating and providing interpretation for events, conferences, and meetings. Facilitating communication between Spanish-speaking families and school staff on academic, health, behavioral, and administrative matters. Translating documents and materials as needed. Participating in parent/teacher conferences, IEP meetings, and family meetings. Managing Family Resource Rooms with site coordinators. Bridging connections between families, school, and community agencies. Conducting outreach and collecting data for needs assessments. Welcoming new families and communicating district resources. Supporting family engagement events and volunteer programs. Assisting with emergency communications and announcements. Maintaining records, data, and reports. Attending required meetings and training. Thorough knowledge of school/district procedures. Experience working with LGBTQ, immigrant, refugee, and disenfranchised communities. Case management experience with multi-need families. Strong cross-cultural communication abilities. Understanding of community agencies and social service systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. Computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word).

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of school/district procedures.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ, immigrant, refugee, and disenfranchised communities.
  • Case management experience with multi-need families.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication abilities.
  • Understanding of community agencies and social service systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Must have a valid MN drivers license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.

  • Previous work with diverse populations in urban school settings.
  • Family resource navigation experience.
  • Associate's degree with coursework in Social Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
