About The Position

Overview Spanish Bilingual Group Counselor Healthcare staff can work anywhere….The BEST work with US! $5,000 Sign-on bonus! Monday-Friday (7am-3pm) $27.47/hour - $30.21/hour A nationally recognized comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency, with over 60 programs across New York City and greater New York Area. The Role Under general direction, the Group Facilitator will be responsible for facilitation treatment groups and education workshops including keeping all required documentation up to date. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Requirements

  • CASAC-T certification required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual Spanish required.
  • At least One-Two (1-2) years related experience in facilitating groups within an 822 Opioid Treatment Program.
  • Knowledge and/or training in Trauma Informed Care and various organizational treatment.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with persons with co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of the laws regarding personnel and client information.
  • Knowledge of Client Rights.
  • Knowledge of Code of Ethics.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop treatment plans in concert with Program Director or Clinical Supervisor that reflect an understanding of specialized Track issues as related to the physical, medical, cognitive and psychosocial needs and specific diagnosis.
  • Ensures groups start on time and run as scheduled.
  • Facilitates group counseling, family sessions and encounter groups as requested.
  • Uses the agency’s Electronic Health Record to input information on client’s participation in group within a timely manner, including Planning and Progress notes. Plus completing all paperwork as per OASAS regulations and agency standards.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention as needed.
  • Implement strategies to increase patient’s participation.
  • Adheres to multidiscipline treatment recommendations that are incorporated into treatment plans.
  • Informs counseling staff of any relevant clinical concerns regarding a patient that may have arisen during group participation.
  • Participates and takes a leadership role in Treatment Plan Reviews and Case Conferences.
