About The Position

The Tissue Culture Lab Technician at Burchell Nursery, Inc. is responsible for producing high-quality plant material through tissue culture techniques in a state-of-the-art facility. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a commercial plant tissue laboratory
• Ability to think quickly and make appropriate decisions to improve plant quality
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Initiation of explants from mother plants
• Transfer of existing plant tissue cultures to fresh medium
• Selection of appropriate media for optimal plant culture growth
• Maintain great sterile technique with minimal contamination
• Experience with micro propagation techniques
• Preparation of culture media
