About The Position

The Test Technician role at Renaissance Repair and Supply involves hands-on testing and qualification of various Optical, Electrical, and Wireless Telecom Cards in a lab environment. The position requires a strong understanding of electronics, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. The technician will be responsible for inspecting units, performing bench tests, documenting findings, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve testing processes.

Requirements

• Electronic Technician/Technologist Diploma preferred
• Equivalent years of relevant work experience within the telecom industry
• Ability to interpret schematic drawings and production documents
• Ability to document clearly & concisely
• Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills
• Health and Safety conscious
• Autonomous self-starter; can anticipate what needs to be done before being asked

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify units for physical damage prior to testing
• Correctly identify which test platforms are used to test each unit
• Perform bench testing with the use of additional test equipment
• Test on multiple test platforms with and without the use of documentation
• Record findings of test failures in the database with clear description(s) of the failure(s)
• Communicate test results both verbally and written with peers and supervisors
• Identify test equipment issues and communicate to the appropriate individuals
• Understand current test procedures and provide input on alternate methods to improve efficiency
• Work with debug and engineering team to set up new test platforms
• Configure/re-configure test stations to accommodate units under test
• Communicate with debug and engineering, as well as Senior Management, as required, to help identify root cause failures
• Meet or exceed daily output requirements
• Perform other job-related duties, as required
