About The Position

The Staffing Development Coordinator at Heritage Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation is responsible for ensuring optimal staffing levels within the healthcare facility. Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a valid license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in staffing coordination or direct nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate staffing schedules that meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
  • Manage staff time off requests and coordinate replacements as needed.
  • Monitor overtime hours and implement strategies to minimize unnecessary overtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant staffing regulations, including nurse-to-patient ratios and mandatory continuing education requirements.
  • Track staff certifications and licenses to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any compliance issues.
  • Provide direct patient care when staffing shortages occur due to call-ins, absences, or increased patient volume.
  • Collaborate with department managers to prioritize patient care needs and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Assist with emergency staffing situations, such as code blues or disasters.
