About The Position

The SGA Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Student Government Association (SGA) and leadership programs, ensuring effective coordination of departmental activities and support for students. This role involves maintaining discipline records, assisting with disciplinary processes, and fostering relationships with law enforcement agencies to positively influence the student population.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Basic computer literacy including email and internet usage.
  • Strong knowledge of student leadership programs.
  • High level of communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, and educate students effectively.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in Juvenile Justice or Human Services preferred.
  • High School Degree required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the SGA and leadership programs.
  • Coordinate all departmental activities related to the SGA program.
  • Discuss infractions of Center rules with students based on Incident Reports.
  • Distribute weekly restriction lists to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain records of all activities related to Center discipline.
  • Inform students of appointments for disciplinary hearings and procedures.
  • Submit weekly activity reports including attendance and incident statistics.
  • Ensure students meet disciplinary guidelines when transitioning phases.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with juvenile and law enforcement agencies.
  • Assist the Student Personnel Manager in various tasks.
  • Follow the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and comply with safety practices.
  • Model and mentor appropriate Career Success Standards.
