About The Position

The Server at Sunrise Senior Living is responsible for providing timely and professional meal service to residents and guests, ensuring a warm and hospitable dining environment. This role includes bussing and resetting tables, general cleaning, and adhering to food safety and sanitation requirements while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment. The position requires weekend availability and emphasizes the importance of personal connections with residents and guests.

Requirements

  • One (1) year job related experience preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Completion of CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate may be required.
  • ServSafe® Food Handler Card may be required.
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required.
  • Written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests.
  • Takes and delivers food orders in a timely manner.
  • Busses and resets tables per company standards.
  • Cleans and maintains the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines.
  • Completes required side work as assigned.
  • Attends pre-meal meetings to gain knowledge of the meal.
  • Has knowledge of menu items and can provide general descriptions.
  • Assists residents with menu selections and responds professionally to questions about menu items.
  • Uses Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy.
  • Practices safe food handling procedures at all times in accordance with all laws and Sunrise policies.
  • Complies with OSHA requirements and safety procedures at all times.
  • Performs other Dining Services duties as assigned, including dishwashing and light janitorial tasks.
  • Prepares and serves light meals in a timely manner and in accordance with established recipes and menus.
  • Assists with food preparation and plating when necessary.
  • Actively participates and commits to working toward team goals.
