About The Position

The Roadside Assistance Driver - Flatbed at AAA Northeast is responsible for providing safe and efficient roadside solutions for AAA members. This role involves responding to service requests, ensuring member safety, and delivering high-quality customer service while operating a tow or flatbed vehicle. The position requires technical skills to perform minor mechanical assistance and towing services, as well as the ability to manage emotional situations with members in distress.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 21 years of age required.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting required.
• Active and valid driver's license issued by one state or jurisdiction required.
• DOT card pre-hire and as a current employee within 1 year required.
• Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment.

Responsibilities

• Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination.
• Locate and greet members, addressing their emotional state and providing reassurance.
• Assess the safety of the scene upon arrival to ensure safe service delivery.
• Provide efficient minor mechanical assistance and towing service as needed.
• Diagnose probable causes of breakdowns through probing questions.
• Determine the best course of action based on collected information.
• Safely tow vehicles following Club policies and AAA towing guidelines.
• Maintain service vehicle and equipment in good working order and conduct safety checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools and products for service calls.
• Follow traffic and motor vehicle laws to avoid injury and damage.
• Maintain a professional image of self and vehicle to represent the AAA brand.
• Safeguard confidential information and follow proper paperwork guidelines.
• Promote AAA products and services to members and educate them on available options.

Benefits

• $21.50 per hour base pay
• Full benefits package
• Incentive pay
• $2.50 per hour overnight differential for hours worked between 10pm and 6am
• $1.50 per hour evening differential for hours worked between 6pm and 10pm
• $1 per hour differential for working weekend hours
