The Property Adjuster position at Erie Insurance involves exercising independent judgment in handling various property claims.   • Conduct investigations, interviews, and inspect damage within the assigned territory.
  • Prepare estimates and handle coverage questions and litigation.
  • Set and maintain reserves, review reports, and determine coverage and claim value.
  • Document claim files and submit reports for closure.
  • Recognize subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action.
  • Interact with agents and district sales managers on mutual concerns.
  • Assist claims supervisor or act on their behalf, including representing the company at legal proceedings.
  • Complete industry-related training programs and assist in training new claims adjusters.
  • Participate on the Catastrophe Team when required.
  • High School Diploma or GED with five years of claims handling experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with two years of claims handling experience.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses.
  • Successful completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.
  • Good time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to drive/travel regularly within the assigned territory.
