The Produce Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for overseeing the sales and operations of the Produce Department, ensuring quality control, merchandising, and cleanliness. This role involves managing inventory, coaching team members, and maintaining high standards of customer service in a fast-paced environment. The Produce Manager plays a key role in team development and operational efficiency, while also serving as a key carrier and manager on duty when needed.

  • Oversee the sales and operation of the Produce Department.
  • Ensure quality control and maintain cleanliness and organization of the department.
  • Manage inventory effectively.
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching and feedback.
  • Conduct bi-annual performance reviews and make recommendations for merit increases.
  • Participate in in-store meetings regularly.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Address team member concerns with independent judgment.
  • Document corrective actions and collaborate with HR on performance management.
  • Create and adjust schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, and product knowledge to team members.
  • Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
  • Serve as a Key Carrier and Manager on Duty as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a grocery retail setting with management experience in produce.
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform general housekeeping in the department.
  • Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a pallet jack and maneuver carts as required.
  • Must achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of personnel and financial reports.
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards team members and customers.
