About The Position

The Preschool Teacher for the 2 Year Old Classroom at Brighten Academy Preschool is responsible for preparing young children for kindergarten by introducing them to organized education. The role involves nurturing and engaging children, fostering their mental and emotional development, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• At least 6 units of Early Childhood Education
• Working towards an additional 6 units in Early Childhood Education
• Knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods
• Ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention
• Experience working with children
• Understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Friendly and reliable
• Certification in child CPR preferred, but not required
• 12 completed early childhood education units, or 6 units in early childhood education, with an additional 6 units to be completed

Responsibilities

• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children's progress and report to parents
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
