This full-time position offers a 14/14 schedule with 12-hour shifts, allowing for a balanced work-life environment. The role requires a commitment to safety and participation in community outreach, with a focus on maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and medical teams.

  • Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
  • Completes pre-flight checks to verify aircraft airworthiness.
  • Conducts a complete walk-around of the aircraft before and after each flight.
  • Maintains final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety.
  • Ensures familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems used in operations.
  • Completes required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Conducts detailed flight planning with minimal notice.
  • Participates in Air Methods meetings and community outreach activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Valid Pilot License required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 2-5 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2,000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1,500 flight hours in category.
  • 1,000 hours PIC in category and 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
  • 200 hours of cross-country flight time, with at least 50 hours at night.
  • 100 hours of unaided night as PIC, with substitutions allowed for NVG time.
  • 50 hours total actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
