About The Position

The OR Supply Technician plays a crucial role in managing medical material supplies within the operating room. This position involves ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, transporting, delivering, issuing, safeguarding, accounting for, and replenishing supplies to ensure that surgical cases are adequately supported. The technician works overnight from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and collaborates closely with OR staff and Materials Management to maintain inventory levels and ensure the availability of necessary items for surgeries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of materials management related to inventory control, counts, purchasing, and delivery.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to learn Cerner, IDX, and other applicable hospital-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Process receipts for incoming supplies.
• Ensure quality and quantity of materials match supporting documentation and address discrepancies.
• Assist in OR inventory count.
• Help establish and adjust par levels for supplies as necessary.
• Order supplies and implants from assigned areas.
• Stock incoming materials/supplies in designated areas.
• Work with OR Service Coordinators to ensure relevant items are available for surgical cases.
• Perform all other assigned duties related to implants, supplies, stocking, receiving, or Materials Management.
