About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience desired.
• Nurse Assistant certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology.
• Demonstrated math skills for calculations related to patient care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and keyboard proficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient admission and discharge processes.
• Bathing patients and assisting with oral hygiene.
• Turning, positioning, moving, lifting, transferring, and ambulating patients.
• Taking and recording vital signs including temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations.
• Answering patient call lights and addressing needs appropriately.
• Performing skin care and wound care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Conducting procedures such as catheter insertion, blood glucose monitoring, and EKGs as directed by a Registered Nurse.
• Preparing and administering perineal care and non-medicated enemas as assigned.
• Performing emergency procedures including CPR and using AED.
• Implementing isolation precautions and obtaining specimens as directed.
