About The Position

The Nursing Assistant for the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to Veterans, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This position involves monitoring vital signs, assisting with clinical procedures, and documenting patient care in accordance with established policies. The Nursing Assistant will also be responsible for COVID-19 screening and maintaining infection control protocols, contributing to a safe healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Six months of general experience or one year above high school with related courses.
  • Completion of an intensive, specialized course of study related to nursing assistance may meet experience requirements.
  • Ability to observe and report changes in patients' physical or emotional status.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a related medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of nursing duties to enhance the safety and comfort of Veterans.
  • Monitor vital signs and document changes in the Veteran's condition.
  • Assist with COVID-19 screening and maintain social distancing guidelines.
  • Document patient care in the Veteran's medical record using approved formats.
  • Assist with rooming scheduled patients and measuring vital signs.
  • Provide 1:1 observation during clinical emergencies as needed.
  • Set up for and assist with procedures in the clinic.
  • Maintain routine equipment and supplies under indirect supervision.
  • Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures as required.
