The New Grad RN position at TriStar Horizon Medical Center is part of the HCA Nurse Residency Program, designed to support recent nursing graduates in their transition from student to registered nurse. This year-long program provides hands-on experience, advanced clinical training, and mentorship from experienced nurse leaders, ensuring that new nurses develop essential clinical and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment.

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses.
  • Notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience needed.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.
