About The Position

The Air and Gas Tester position at Rheem Manufacturing is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of water heating units by conducting thorough inspections for leaks and defects. This role involves working with gas lines and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must pass an eye exam.
• Ability to continuously lift 5-25 lbs.
• Frequent lifting of 25-60 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or lift repetitively during the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift in unsupported positions as well as bend, twist/turn, reach, push/pull.
• Ability to work in wet conditions.
• Vision level appropriate for inspection.

Responsibilities

• Visual inspection of tanks for leaks using air pressure or water.
• Inspect gas lines for heater gas leaks before packaging.
• Properly hook-up gas lines (L.P. or Natural gas) to units for leaks.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• May work under extremely wet conditions.
• Practice and support Rheem values with internal and external customers.
• May be exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust, and airborne particles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
