About The Position

The Medical Assistant Float (MA/CMA) position at ORA Orthopedics involves providing essential support to healthcare providers and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant diploma and certification are preferred
  • One year of prior medical assisting experience is preferred
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, and basic nursing principles and protocols
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
  • The ability to travel between ORA's Bettendorf, Davenport, and Clinton clinic locations as scheduled is required
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms; maintaining a timely flow of patients
  • Preparing patients for provider's visit by accurately gathering and recording initial information, medical history, and vital signs
  • Assisting the provider with exams and procedures
  • Ordering/scheduling any x-rays or tests that are needed; entering data into proper systems
  • Educating patients and their caregivers regarding specific care as instructed by the provider
  • Inspecting exam rooms for cleanliness and equipment condition; stocking and maintaining rooms and clinic stations with adequate supplies
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
