About The Position

The Marketing Communications Specialist at Plymouth Housing is responsible for shaping and executing the organization's online content strategy. Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Marketing, Social Media, Journalism, or other Digital Media/Communications.
  • Proven commitment to racial equity in either personal or professional life.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends for fundraising events.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic filming and video editing skills, especially for social media reels.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage high levels of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to establish a vision and strategy for online content.
  • Generate content ideas and maintain the content calendar.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews, photo, and filming sessions; capture content using an iPhone or in-house camera.
  • Write text for social media captions, graphics, and reels.
  • Work with the graphic designer to create graphics.
  • Prepare photos for web and create video reels.
  • Conduct approval routing and publish social media content.
  • Monitor inboxes and notifications to engage with the audience.
  • Record and analyze social media metrics monthly.
  • Participate in content planning for Plymouth's blog and produce longer-form content occasionally.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Communications Manager to create email marketing plans.
  • Draft text for eblasts and design them using Mailchimp.
  • Record eblast metrics.
  • Build relationships with staff and residents, evaluating digital communication practices using an antiracist lens.
  • Develop digital content with best practices for accessibility.
  • Act as the primary photographer at internal functions and assist in larger-scale video projects.
