About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at Hayfield Window & Door is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities. This role involves troubleshooting issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring a safe and clean working environment. The technician will engage in various support functions that impact machine operations and will have opportunities for on-the-job training and growth within the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Physical capability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Full hand dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Analytical, logical, and detailed thought process.
  • Ability to read/troubleshoot from electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate computer competency with Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems, electronic cards, and basic welding skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Gather parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Engage in related support functions that impact machine ability to run orders.
  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance of equipment, including inspecting, calibrating, and safety checks.
  • Repair or replace broken or worn-out components.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures or breakdowns.
  • Perform maintenance on the facility, including plumbing, electrical, and structural repairs/modifications.
  • Upgrade, modify, or adjust all machines and/or existing guarding to increase safety.
  • Follow all safety rules, including lockout/tagout regulations and machine guidelines.
  • Wear required PPE to maintain safety and adhere to all safety procedures and processes.
  • Accurately read a tape measure and follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
