About The Position

The Kitchen Satellite Lead (KSL) is responsible for overseeing food ordering, receiving supplies, maintaining production records, and ensuring the preparation and serving of meals at school locations. This role requires proficiency in Point of Sale software and involves managing meal sales, inventory, and compliance with health regulations. The KSL plays a crucial role in fostering a positive dining experience for students and staff while ensuring adherence to the Boulder Valley School District's Food Services Program philosophy.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and speak).
• Pass a post-offer physical and Math Test at entry.
• Proficient operation of kitchen equipment upon hire.
• Knowledge of Horizon Software and QSP Point of Sale software within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of three years experience in Food Services.
• Intermediate skills in personal computing, keyboarding, and word processing.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of HACCP Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Order and receive food and supplies, and conduct monthly inventories.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus and prescribed recipes.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, inventory, and meal counts.
• Ensure freshness of prepared items through proper food rotation and labeling.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and storage areas.
• Participate in meal service as a server or cashier as needed.
• Ensure compliance with USDA Guidelines during meal service.
• Record and maintain sales transactions and prepare daily deposit slips.
• Comply with federal, state, and district regulations including HACCP and ServSafe standards.
• Train new Food Service Assistants and direct their work.
