About the position

The Insurance Defense Associate will manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, with a focus on medical malpractice cases. This role requires a strong understanding of legal principles related to insurance defense and the ability to effectively represent clients throughout all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases, particularly in the area of medical malpractice.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal issues related to insurance defense.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Review and analyze medical records and other relevant documents for case preparation.
  • Participate in discovery processes, including interrogatories and requests for admissions.
  • Collaborate with clients and insurance adjusters to develop case strategies and resolve claims.
  • Attend court hearings and trials as required, representing clients' interests.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 1-3 years of experience in insurance defense or related legal practice.
  • Strong understanding of medical malpractice law and related legal issues.
  • Proficiency in conducting depositions and managing discovery processes.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.
