About The Position

The Instructor position is a full-time role focused on teaching Medical Assistant programs at a trade school. The instructor will utilize a pre-designed curriculum while incorporating personal medical knowledge and experiences to enhance student learning. This role involves regular interaction with students, both in and out of the classroom, and requires the instructor to assist students in applying classroom knowledge through hands-on training and lab exercises. The instructor will also be responsible for developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and delivering lectures in a supportive educational environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years' recent experience in the medical field relevant to the teaching subject.
• Formal training from an accredited institution.
• Ability to obtain a national certification as a medical assistant.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Strong student engagement skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience in health-related courses/programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize pre-designed curriculum and supplement with personal medical knowledge.
• Communicate regularly with students and staff, both in and out of class.
• Assist students in practical application of classroom learning through hands-on training and lab exercises.
• Develop and update lesson plans and materials in consultation with school administrators and subject matter experts.
• Teach topics such as medical office procedural skills, infection control, and assistance to healthcare providers.
• Assess student progress and readiness for clinical practice.
• Deliver lectures and laboratory skills procedural training in a small trade school setting.
• Instruct and oversee training and certification process of adult learners for contact hour courses.
