About The Position

The Independent Living Instructor (ILS) at East Bay Innovations is responsible for empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve personal goals of independence and community participation. This role involves working one-on-one with clients, teaching essential life skills in a supportive and motivating environment. The position is full-time, with a caseload of approximately 5-9 clients, primarily located throughout Alameda County.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a driver with a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in social work, social services, occupational therapy, mental health, or case management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with individuals with developmental disabilities to support their independence.
• Teach life skills such as money management, cooking, and household maintenance.
• Assist clients in utilizing public transportation and locating affordable housing.
• Help clients obtain and maintain benefits like Social Security and Medi-Cal.
• Encourage community involvement and socialization among clients.
