About The Position

The IHSS Caregiver position is a part-time role focused on providing essential care to a paralyzed male patient in Downey, CA. The caregiver will work directly with the patient, performing specific tasks that require specialized skills, including the use of a Hoyer lift and wound care. Requirements

• Must be a current IHSS Provider with a valid provider number.
• Experience using a Manual Hoyer-Lift.
• Ability to perform bed to wheelchair transfers and vice-versa.
• Experience dressing a patient and putting on compression socks.
• Experience with diapering and cleaning a paralyzed patient.
• Wound care experience and ability to follow RN directions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in additional caregiving roles or settings.
• Availability for extra hours during evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient with daily living activities for 2 hours each morning, Monday through Friday.
• Use a Manual Hoyer-Lift for patient transfers between bed and wheelchair.
• Perform dressing tasks, including putting on compression socks.
• Provide diapering and cleaning care for the patient, including experience with a Disimpaction Bowel Program.
• Administer wound care as directed by a registered nurse.
