About The Position

The Hostperson (Recepcionista de Restaurante) at The Grill at Torrey Pines is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This full-time position emphasizes exceptional customer service and teamwork, contributing to the restaurant's inviting atmosphere and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous experience in a similar position in a restaurant or hotel is preferred.
• Experience in customer service, retail, food & beverage, or hospitality is required.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire.
• RBS Certification required.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and professional appearance.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm smile and professional appearance.
• Manage reservations and ensure all are honored at the correct time.
• Seat guests according to a pre-arranged seating plan.
• Initiate light conversation with guests while seating them.
• Hand out menus and take drink orders to expedite service.
• Ensure appropriate menus are available for distribution.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the leadership team.
