About The Position

The Hospital Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the Erie County Medical Center. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a hygienic environment for patients and staff, particularly in sensitive areas such as patient rooms and specialized units. Requirements

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and buff floors in offices, corridors, and other areas.
• Use extension poles, ladders, and scaffolds to clean walls, ceilings, and light fixtures.
• Shampoo and change rugs as necessary.
• Clean patient rooms to minimize the spread of infection.
• Collect and transport linens to and from laundry services.
• Gather and dispose of refuse as directed.
• Clean public and patient bathrooms, including disinfecting surfaces and replenishing supplies.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning tasks.
• Maintain supply rooms for housekeeping throughout the facility.
• Perform cleaning activities in specialized areas such as trauma units and emergency rooms.
• Clean isolated rooms and dispose of contaminated equipment.
