About The Position

The Group Mentoring Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is responsible for overseeing the Group Mentoring Program aimed at youth aged 5-25. This role involves coordinating with agency staff, schools, and community partners to ensure that participants benefit from the organization's mentoring framework. The manager will lead group activities, support mentor recruitment and training, and maintain communication with families and school representatives to foster a supportive environment for youth development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years related experience or a combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of K-12 school and resource landscape.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), Outlook, and Zoom.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a variety of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in youth mentoring or community service programs.
  • Familiarity with the Theory of Change framework.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the Group Mentoring Program by enrolling students and families with a goal of 20 active youth.
  • Ensure weekly check-ins occur between assigned mentors and mentees.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with parents and accompany paid mentors on home visits.
  • Lead and organize group mentoring meetings and activities in partnership with the school and mentors.
  • Collaborate with community champions and the school district to plan activities for youth.
  • Document challenges and successes for youth in the agency management system.
  • Partner with school representatives to identify and recruit youth and families into the program.
  • Communicate and coordinate with school staff to provide resources to students and families.
  • Recruit and enroll community-based volunteers into the group mentoring program.
  • Provide regular updates to mentors about upcoming activities and group meetings.
  • Support the development of the ABCToday Group Mentoring structure by collaborating with other departments.
  • Create semester and yearly plans for the group, outlining goals and expectations.
