About The Position

The Program Leader at Arc Experience plays a crucial role in supporting youth in after-school programs across Southern California. This part-time position focuses on fostering social-emotional learning, assisting with homework, and leading various enrichment activities. Program Leaders are essential in creating a safe and engaging environment for students, helping them develop new skills while having fun.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Good communication skills to interact comfortably with both kids and parents.
• College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed or passing an academic proficiency exam.
• Ability to provide proof of a negative TB test and pass a Live Scan background check.
• Current vaccination for Covid-19 (boosters not required).

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.
• Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create unique clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance.
• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols and monitoring student behavior.
• Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
• Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests.
