The Financial Controller at CMK Construction is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, payroll, and compliance. This role is crucial for providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making and ensure the company's financial health as it continues to grow.

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger management, and job costing.
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis to support the company's growth goals.
  • Track project profitability, ensuring proper allocation of costs to individual remodeling projects.
  • Manage collections, ensuring timely invoicing and payment from customers, and working with project managers to resolve any billing disputes or issues.
  • Manage cash flow, invoicing, and vendor payments to ensure financial stability.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, licensing, and other legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure accurate job costing.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial accuracy and accountability.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the point of contact for auditors.
  • Support pricing strategies and perform margin analysis for various remodeling projects.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Provide regular financial updates to senior management, including forecasting, offering insights that drive business decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction, remodeling, or home improvement industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in project-based accounting.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or other related platforms.
  • Experience with Buildertrend, Lead Perfection, or Leap is highly valued.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, collections, and cash flow management.
  • Experience with Buildertrend, Lead Perfection, or Leap is highly valued.
