About The Position

The Financial Analyst role at Novolex is focused on providing analytical support to plant leadership teams, with an emphasis on operational performance, standardized reporting, trend analysis, and product profitability. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to enhance financial performance and support the annual operating plan process, ensuring effective management of costs and pricing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related Business field, with coursework in intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, with manufacturing experience being a plus.
  • Strong understanding of integrated financial systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analytical and financial skills, with a solid understanding of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Excellent business partnership skills and flexibility in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of operational performance with a focus on standardized reporting and trend analysis.
  • Support the annual operating plan process by collaborating with Plant Managers and Accounting.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of raw material cost trends and plant labor markets to improve product margins.
  • Coordinate with commercial finance and pricing teams to adjust pricing for margin management.
  • Work with Plant Managers to understand material usage variances and support improvement efforts.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting tools to highlight potential risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with the accounting team during the monthly close process to ensure proper accounting of variances.
  • Support the sales team during RFP processes.
