The Environmental Service Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas. This role involves cleaning, disinfecting, and performing maintenance on various surfaces, as well as managing waste disposal. The technician collaborates with team members to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

  • Cleans and disinfects assigned work areas according to department procedures.
  • Removes medical waste, trash, and linens.
  • Performs interim and restorative maintenance of hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
  • Assembles, maintains, and stores necessary equipment and supplies according to department standards.
  • Communicates and collaborates with team members to ensure continuity of services.
  • Reports maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
  • Assists visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
  • Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience.
