About The Position

The Consumer Loan Specialist role at Mariner Finance involves providing exceptional customer service by addressing customer needs, processing loan applications, and presenting loan solutions. The position requires proactive engagement with customers, particularly those with past due balances, to resolve issues and promote company products and services. The specialist will also ensure compliance with relevant consumer laws and maintain financial transactions accurately.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer service or sales position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs with the ability to learn financial services programs.
  • Ability to complete essential duties/functions in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills in demanding situations.
  • Must obtain applicable, required licenses to sell insurance products offered to customers by the branch.

Nice To Haves

  • Cash Handling, selling and/or collecting experience.
  • Some college coursework.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service by proactively solving problems and presenting loan solutions based on customer needs.
  • Processes credit loan applications and analyzes credit & financial information for current and potential customers.
  • Proactively contacts customers with past due balances to offer possible solutions and resolve delinquency.
  • Achieves consistent results by meeting or exceeding expected individual and branch goals related to the sale of company products and services.
  • Learns Federal, State, and Local Application Consumer laws to ensure compliant actions.
  • Maintains a cash drawer, including processing payments and delivering daily deposits to specified financial institutions as required.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and branch staffing to provide consistent quality customer service.
