About The Position

The Conference Center Attendant I is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of conference center rooms at Marina Village Conference Center in San Diego. This role is essential in ensuring that events run smoothly and that the facilities are maintained to a high standard. The position requires a service-oriented individual who is adaptable and able to manage time effectively while performing physical tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year of building maintenance experience preferred
• One (1) year of conference center setup and breakdown preferred
• Service Oriented - Actively looking for ways to help people

• Adaptability - Ability to adapt to changing situations
• Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about them
• Physical Demands - Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs. at a time; move frequently around the property for an extended period of time; push and pull up to one hundred (100) lbs.; bend, stoop, and reach as necessary; engage in physical activity over long periods of time; stand for long periods of time; demonstrate trunk strength (abdominal/lower back) and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Smile, acknowledge, and greet conference center clients and guests
• Complete assigned room settings and removal of tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment as required
• Perform routine preventive maintenance of the conference center and equipment
• Respond promptly to event setup requests
• Complete daily assignments as directed by Conference Center Maintenance Supervisor
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the interior and exterior of the conference center
• Use appropriate maintenance equipment as needed and properly maintain and store equipment
• Other duties as assigned
