About The Position

The Clinical Nurse I in the NICU at Hoag Memorial Hospital provides direct patient care in maternal child health departments, including Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP, and NICU. This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe and quality patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices, and maintaining compliance with hospital standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrollment in a BSN program within one year of hire, with completion within two years.
• Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
• Certification in NRP, ACLS, Basic Fetal Monitoring, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (with a grace period for Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification).
• Completion of 16 hours of lactation education and 4 hours of demonstrated bedside hands-on competencies within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform physical assessments and nursing interventions.
• Administer medications and manage pain.
• Collect specimens and meet patients' nutritional and emotional needs.
• Educate patients and assist with discharge planning.
• Utilize the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices.

• Maintain knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
