About The Position

The CAD Designer position at Stantec involves working within the Energy & Resources group to support large-scale civil projects, particularly in hydropower, dams, and mining. The role requires collaboration with remote teams and adherence to project schedules and budgets while delivering high-quality CAD designs using Civil3D and AutoCAD.

Requirements

• Experience using advanced Civil 3D grading features, corridors, roads, volumetrics, and other tools.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must; proficiency with MicroStation is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (through 2018 or later).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working on Dams and Spillways related projects.
• Previous experience with Civil Site design, Carlson Software, ProjectWise, Globalmapper, and ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality Civil3D Design under the direction of the CAD Manager, Engineering Team, and Project Managers.
• Comply with schedules and budget hours for CAD efforts for a variety of mining and industrial projects.
• Develop earthwork grading plans and layouts for dams and spillway features using Civil3D.
• Work with remote teams via ProjectWise with minimal oversight.
• Ensure attention to detail and strong QA/QC skills.
