About The Position

The Auto Bodily Injury Claims Representative at The Hartford is responsible for managing and resolving auto property damage and bodily injury claims of low to medium exposure. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, critical thinking, and effective communication while adhering to company standards. The representative will work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with in-office responsibilities, and will be expected to maintain a customer-centric approach throughout the claims process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience adjusting auto physical damage claims.
  • Experience handling auto bodily injury claims preferred.
  • College degree preferred and/or 2+ years of related customer service experience.
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of excellence and promote an inclusive environment.
  • Critical thinking skills inclusive of investigation, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong customer service skills to create and maintain loyal customers.
  • Ability to produce clear and grammatically accurate correspondence.
  • Organizational skills to handle competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Handle to resolution auto property damage and auto bodily injury claims of low to medium exposure.
  • Make coverage determinations and conduct liability investigations.
  • Negotiate settlements with represented and non-represented claimants.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to gather and analyze information and data to make sound decisions.
  • Evaluate self against performance targets and strive to exceed expectations.
  • Contribute to a culture that promotes collaboration and inclusion to maximize operational performance and employee engagement.
  • Leverage contemporary technology to achieve accurate and efficient claim outcomes.
