About The Position

The Assistant Director of Residence Life at Reed College is responsible for overseeing various administrative functions within the Office of Residence Life. Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field such as student affairs administration, counseling, hospitality management, or business administration.
  • 2 years of experience in Residence Life, which can include one year of graduate experience.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate training.
  • Experience in developing rapport with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with House Advisor and Area Coordinator recruitment, including selection and training.
  • Support housing operations, including openings, closings, inventory inspections, room changes, and housing assignments.
  • Partner with the Director of Residence Life to set and assess departmental goals and programs that support student success.
  • Manage the development of on-campus Interest Based Housing Programs in collaboration with campus partners.
  • Supervise and coach Residence Life staff.
  • Support residential case management, advising residents on personal and academic needs, and College policies.
  • Serve in an after-hours on-call capacity in collaboration with a weekly on-call team.
  • Participate as a member of the Care Team and other college-affiliated committees.
