About The Position

The Community Support Coordinator at LifeLine Animal Project plays a vital role in assisting the public with various pet-related challenges, including strays, community cats, and owner surrender requests. This position is part of the Community Engagement Department, focusing on helping individuals keep their pets in their homes while providing essential resources and support.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade; Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong computer knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office, Google, and PetPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a calm and organized manner.
  • General knowledge of animal behavior and care.

Nice To Haves

  • Animal handling experience (1 year preferred).
  • Bilingual skills (1 year preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the standards and values of LifeLine Animal Project.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for all members of the public.
  • Offer information on resources including medical services, training recommendations, and pet care guidance.
  • Distribute supplies such as food, crates, collars, and bedding to those in need.
  • Support pet owners with rehoming guidance and resources.
  • Assist individuals in locating lost pets and provide support at the center.
  • Document public interactions and maintain records in the designated forms and PetPoint system.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to voicemails and emails in a timely manner.
  • Process payments for transactions and follow up on owned animals/microchips.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lobby and community support supplies area.
  • Serve as a representative of LifeLine Animal Project, conducting oneself professionally at all times.
