About The Position

The part-time Administrative Assistant for the GEAR UP program at Utah Valley University plays a crucial role in supporting students by managing records, entering data, and handling correspondence. This position is designed for detail-oriented individuals who can maintain confidentiality and accuracy while contributing to the efficient operation of the program under the supervision of the GEAR UP Assistant Director.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree and one year of experience, or any combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling three years.
  • Knowledge and experience working in an education or office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Skills in using computers and software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, databases, and texting platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced and confidential administrative support duties, including data entry and routine correspondence.
  • Assist the Assistant Director and Data Coordinator with the internal database.
  • Maintain departmental files and records.
  • Conduct data collection and file audits.
  • Assist other administrative staff in receiving and directing incoming calls and visitors, including vendors and UVU employees.
  • Respond to general inquiries regarding office operations.
  • Perform general office duties, including coordinating with Admin III regarding maintenance of office facilities and equipment repair requests.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
