We have an exciting opportunity for a Spaceflight Hardware Pyrotechnic Systems Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. If selected you will: Identify technical needs and manage systems engineering and technical integration activities for pyrotechnic systems over the entire life cycle, including design, development, test, evaluation, verification, launch, on-orbit, and entry operations. Support requirements development, design reviews, test and verification plans, and other technical reviews of NASA pyrotechnic systems. Direct and support design, development, test, and verification activities to ensure the system meets its requirements Provide oversight and recommendations into spacecraft pyrotechnic systems architecture, designs, requirements, and performance. Assist in root cause identification and resolution of technical problems and issues. Perform hazard reports assessments and analyze technical feasibility of pyrotechnic devices. Coordinate with Safety and Mission Assurance to ensure safety measures are in place for pyrotechnic devices. Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels.
