About The Position

Space Systems Production Manager (Satellite & Launch Systems) Overview Our client is seeking a Space Systems Production Manager to lead advanced manufacturing for satellite and launch-system hardware , owning the full production lifecycle from incoming materials through final delivery. This leader will drive on-time, high-quality output in a fast-paced environment—using modern, data-driven tools (AI-enabled planning, scheduling, quality analytics, and automation) while developing a high-performing team of technicians. What Youll Own Production leadership (end-to-end): Oversee build execution from kitting/material readiness to final integration, test, and delivery. Planning & scheduling (AI-enabled): Run dynamic schedules that adjust to constraints (capacity, downtime, supply disruption), identify bottlenecks early, and optimize throughput. Team leadership: Lead, coach, and scale a multidisciplinary technician team; drive accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Workforce optimization: Align labor to demand and skill sets; manage shifts, workload balancing, and compliance. Training & capability building: Implement scalable training—digital modules, simulations, and on-the-floor guidance (including AR where applicable). Quality & delivery: Monitor KPIs in real time, implement robust inspection and corrective actions, and ensure flight hardware meets stringent standards. Aerospace test & logistics: Ensure proper execution of relevant test protocols (e.g., thermal vacuum, vibration, acoustic) and manage safe handling/shipment to launch site.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing/operations management experience, including meaningful time in aerospace/satellite production .
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or leveraging AI/ML, automation, or advanced digital manufacturing tools to improve planning, quality, or execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience working with ERP and MES systems in production.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams with strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident (export compliance / space technology regulations).

Nice To Haves

  • Tools: Odoo (ERP), Teamcenter (PLM), First Resonance ION (MES), Confluence, Jira
  • High-rate, fast-paced production environments
  • Spacecraft Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) practices
  • Aerospace/Defense and/or government contract experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (or equivalent)
