Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Payload Systems Engineering Team as an Algorithm Description Document (ADD) Lead . As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to support efforts on both concept and product development to deliver key solutions to our customers. We cover a wide variety of expertise within the systems engineering domain. This includes mission engineering, requirements, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, and verification and validation. As the ADD Lead Engineer , you will be responsible for the creation of multiple algorithm description documents ensuring that each detail the algorithm design, logic and implementation. The ADD Lead will ensure that the problems that each algorithm address are well defined, all appropriate steps are well documented, and algorithm is fully designed. The ADD Lead is also expected to ensure that the final document is concise, unambiguous and complete. This role may include, but is not limited to, the following: Ability to clearly define problem space and lead or assist with the development of technical algorithmic solutions Analytical problem solver capable of identifying/gathering all applicable requirements Creation of core logic of algorithms for implementation via Model Based Systems Engineering Leading optimization analyses of algorithms and highlighting alternative approaches and documenting analysis results Ensuring that documentation contains all required details and is clear and easy for others to understand This position can be staffed at a Principal or Sr. Principal level , based on the basic qualifications below. In addition, this position can be based in Linthicum, MD or Rolling Meadows, IL.
