About The Position

The Space Planning Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all Space Management work streams. This individual will apply the merchandise strategies and project initiatives of the Merchandising department through assisting in creation/maintenance of planograms and floorplans, supporting stores through printing shelf strips, and assisting in the category reset process through implementation of merchandising strategies and category scope. What You'll Do: Works cross functionally across departments including, but not limited to, Merchandising, Store-Planning, and Information Systems in the maintenance and seamless integration of full JDA suite. Partners with Merchandising teams around category resets to ensure proper execution of merchandising strategies regarding product changes, merchandise placement, store assignments, and efficiency in micro and macro space by utilizing the JDA platform (Floorplans & Planograms) and Microsoft Excel. Manage in-office printing and shipping of shelf strips for New Store Openings, Remodels, and Issue Resolution. Assist in merchandising process for New Store Openings, Remodels, and Issue Resolution by communicating with field teams, updating floorplans, and updating planograms. Monitors service channel tickets and resolves planogram and floorplan assignments, as well as other merchandising issues logged by stores. Escalates tickets to the appropriate department when necessary. Proactively identifies space merchandising issues between categories and champions recommended courses of action. Requirements

  • Understanding merchandising principles and the underlying impact to a retailer required

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Merchandising team around category resets to ensure proper execution of planogram changes with regard to product changes, merchandise placement, store assignments, and efficiency with regard to micro and macro Space.
  • Manages merchandising portion of new store opening process through application of planograms and initial order based off of proprietary clustering by store type and demographic data.
  • Responsible for maintenance of fleet-wide planogram database to include new product lines, allocation of space, promotional changes, and communication of changes to operations on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively identifies issues with regard to space merchandising between categories and champions recommended courses of action.
  • Effectively analyzes sales trends, item level data, pricing, and inventory to drive the business forward through data-driven recommendations and evaluations.
  • Publishes weekly business reporting and provide analysis around trends from historical data at numerous levels.
