About The Position

The Space Planner is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, design, and management of interior spaces within a corporate real estate portfolio. This role combines occupancy planning expertise with interior design knowledge to ensure optimal space utilization, workplace experience, and compliance with building codes and standards. The Space Planner collaborates with stakeholders to align space solutions with business goals, employee needs, and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in corporate real estate, space planning, or interior design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CAFM software, space management systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of building codes, life-safety, and ADA compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and user experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Interior Design Certification or equivalent (if degree is in a non-related field) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and maintain business unit (BU) demand/supply data and utilization metrics.
  • Develop and maintain current and forecasted stack plans and space plans.
  • Identify and implement tactical space planning projects.
  • Monitor unplanned activity and support change management related to workspace transitions.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and scoped delivery of space-related initiatives.
  • Support long-term site strategy through space and occupancy analysis.
  • Evaluate and document existing interior conditions and their impact on project scope.
  • Translate client goals and data into creative and functional design concepts.
  • Select interior finishes, furniture, equipment, and other non-structural elements.
  • Prepare schematic, design development, and construction documentation for permitting and implementation.
  • Coordinate with allied professionals (architects, engineers, consultants) to ensure cohesive design integration.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and consultant coordination.
  • Support construction administration, including bid analysis, field observation, and project closeout.
