About The Position
The Building People, LLC, is seeking a qualified Space Planner to support our government client in Alexandria, VA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient planning and optimization of office spaces, particularly in the context of restacking and move/change management. The Space Planner will collaborate closely with the Lead and Senior Interior Designers, leveraging their expertise to interpret data and create comprehensive Construction Documents while keeping master plans updated. In this position, the Space Planner will gather essential planning data to define optimal functional adjacencies, leading the development of move and relocation sequencing and execution. Critical thinking skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret all phases of construction documentation. The Space Planner will maintain a thorough understanding of current and future space needs, aligning with client direction and workplace requirements. The responsibilities also include analyzing space requirements, determining the compatibility of existing spaces versus new definitions, and providing space plans and recommendations as directed. The Space Planner will integrate client-established standards, consider technology and infrastructure implications, and evaluate existing furniture solutions. Additionally, the role involves assessing telework agreements and their impact on furniture layouts, proposing both temporary and permanent relocation scenarios, and preparing blocking and stacking plans, scenario plans, and move lists. The Space Planner will also assist in creating presentations for the client, ensuring that all aspects of space planning are effectively communicated.
