GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements. Our space systems team is looking to add a Space Mission Systems Engineer to support our space system development programs.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Six or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, four or more years of experience with a master's degree, or two or more years with a PhD.
  • Prior experience in space domain and satellite segment design desired.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Cameo or Magic Draw, DOORS, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Must have active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support space system Concept of Operations (CONOPs) development and ensure the ground segment design and Mission Operations Plan satisfies the program CONOPs.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of Mission Operations Plans, to include LEOP Support integration & test phases as programs transition to dress rehearsals.
  • Support mission dress rehearsal planning and execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Using traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches lead and contribute to the development of all SE work products which may include: System Architecture development of complex systems and CONOPS development.
  • Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development.
  • Ground Services Integration, Test and/or Verification.
  • Design reviews, milestone reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR, PSR.
  • Contributes to conduct of program design and readiness reviews.
  • Expected to be part of on-call rotation for on-orbit operations.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the program to deliver and maintain the best operational system and seek efficiencies.
  • Support internal development and new business opportunities.
